Self catered or catered?
I reckon catered halls are better because you don't have to cook!!!
... If you can't cook - why try!

Re: Self catered or catered?
I have to disagree.
I think Self-catered is better. As you can experiment with cooking, and means when you get a house in your second year you won't be living off, microwavable foods, take-aways etc. So you'll be better off in the long run.
Don't you agree?
Plus, what if your timetable was silly and you ended up finishing late, after food has stopped being served. What would you do? Fast food? For someone like me, not likely.

I'd have to agree with Halo Girl.
Besides I'm a very fussy eater. The canteen staff would probably end up just hitting me everytime they saw me (that's of no relvance to my point. I just had one of those 'I was born simply to use that smiley' moment)

Re: Self catered or catered?
Self catered is better because people all have different appetites and preferences.
If you cook for yourself you don't have the problem of discovering that the food being served is something you hate (unless you're a very bad cook of course).
But, if you're the kind of person who'll eat anything, and there's no chance of you missing meals because of lectures or work, catered is probably easier. I wouldn't have thought there are many people like that though
(they have cool smilies here!)
